Shooting Moose in Utah!

Waking up before sunrise often yields great results. Often you’ll get a beautiful landscape photo, but sometimes you will find wildlife enjoying their natural habitat. That was the case last week at Brighton Lakes in Utah where we came upon a group of moose having a nice morning by the water.

I focused on composition with these images, setting the animals off to one side or placing objects between them and my lens. It’s often easy to start shooting snaps just to capture the scene without much regard for the overall images when you encounter things like this. Taking the extra time to compose the image well can really enhance the finished product!

What do you think? How would you have shot these images differently? Do you have any tricks for capturing wildlife photos?
